Colombian National Army prevented the marketing of more than one million doses of cocaine in the United States

Ejército Nacional evitó la comercialización de más de un millón de dosis de cocaína en los Estados Unidos

Through the elimination of a coca-growing complex that would cost 700 million pesos and had a monthly production capacity of two tons of drugs.

Within the framework of the Campaign Plan of the military operation Ayacucho Plus 2023-2026, under the concept of unified action, troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT) in coordination with the National Police, within the framework of military operations, reported the finding and destruction, in the village Bella Vista, of Sabana de Torres, department of Santander, a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory that would be part of the illicit finances of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, Substructure Édgar Madrid Benjumea.

The coca-growing complex was made up of four structures with a monthly production capacity of two tons of narcotic. Thanks to military intelligence efforts, there are indications that the members of this group have sought to transcend borders, in their intention to market the drug in Central American countries and in the United States, taking as mobility routes the coastal and maritime areas of the Caribbean Sea.

With the finding of this laboratory, where 1026 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops, that would cost 151,000 million pesos, and the destruction of the construction, valued at 700 million pesos, the illicit activities of the GAO Clan del Golfo continue to be attacked.
