In the framework of military operations against drug trafficking, troops of Colombian National Army's Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, CONAT, in a joint operation with the Colombian Aerospace Force and coordinated with the National Police, found in the last few hours a complex for production cocaine hydrochloride in Porvenir village, municipality of San Roque, department of Antioquia.
The illegal construction, made of six rustic structures, would be at the service of the illicit finances of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, specifically of the so called Pacificadores de Samaná Substructure.
During the operation, troops seized 409 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 1526 gallons of cocaine in process, 765 gallons of liquid supplies and 150 kilograms of solid substances. In the same way, two rudimentary distillation towers, and a filterer or worm, were found by troops, fundamental elements for the production of this narcotic.
According to military intelligence information, this illegal complex had the capacity to produce approximately one ton of cocaine per month. The alkaloid was transported by land to the Gulf of Urabá, from where it was later sent by Go-Fast boats to Central America and the United States.
Through this result of the military operation, the illicit finances of the GAO Clan del Golfo are hit by approximately 500 million pesos, and the circulation of about 409,000 doses of drugs in the illegal market is stopped.
