The operation neutralizes the criminal capacities of the GAO-r Central bloc Isaías Pardo.
In an operation carried out by troops of the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, through the Field Artillery Battalion No. 9 Tenerife, in coordination with the Delta Group, reported they found and destroyed an illicit hideout of explosives that belonged to the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Isaías Pardo Central Bloc, which directly affects the criminal resources of this structure in the department of Huila.
The military operation was carried out in the village of Nilo, in the municipality of Palermo, thanks to military intelligence work and coordinated and inter-institutional work with the Sijin of the Metropolitan Police of Neiva and the Attorney General's Office, enabling to anticipate possible violent acts against the Military Forces, the inhabitants and the commercial sector of the region.
According to the information obtained by the authorities, this explosive element would be used by members of this armed structure to generate intimidation, affect the tranquility of communities and exert pressure through criminal activities such as extortion.
During the procedure, 136 improvised explosive devices were found by troops, 97 meters of detonating cord and 28 pentolite units, elements that were destroyed in controlled conditions by the Explosives and Demolitions Team, EXDE Delta, implementing all the technical and security protocols established to protect the nearby communities and the personnel who participated in the operation.
This result of the military operation represents a significant loss to the logistical capacity of the GAO-r Isaías Pardo Central bloc and reaffirms the commitment of Colombian National Army to the protection of the inhabitants of the department of Huila, through military acts that manage to anticipate threats and prevent the war elements from being used to attack the security and tranquility of the inhabitants.
