Soldiers of the 17th General Domingo Caicedo Infantry Battalion of the Sixth Brigade, in coordination with the National Police, arrived at the Guadualito village in the municipality of Coyaima, department of Tolima, to provide support to a minor, a member of an indigenous people, who had been wounded with a firearm, as well as to the indigenous governor, who had been attacked by armed men, a situation that is under investigation to identify the perpetrators and the one who ordered it.
The soldiers, respecting human rights and indigenous customs, with their combat nurse, assisted these two people who were transferred to the Coyaima hospital, after the denunciation of the Tolima Ombudsman's Office.
We ratify our commitment to the safety of the inhabitants of Tolima and, especially, respect for the indigenous.
The soldiers of the Sixth Brigade deploy all the resources and coordination of the different branches and institutions to protect the people.
