Soldiers of the 11th Brigade of Colombian National Army are providing humanitarian support to hundreds of families hit by the increasing rains that has been flooding the department of Córdoba, especially the inhabitants of villages along the Sinú and San Jorge rivers.
Troops of the Junín and Rifles infantry battalions and the Combat Support and Services Battalion, attending the call of the residents of the area, have supported with the evacuation of families, especially people with reduced mobility and the elderly.
In the same way, the military personnel have helped in the distribution of more than 3,000 humanitarian aid kits, 100 food kits and 100 toilet kits, work that has been being carried out in coordination with other institutions such as the Civil Defense and the departmental and municipal authorities.
This humanitarian assistance has been concentrated on rural areas of the municipalities of Canalete, Montelíbano, La Apartada and Puerto Escondido, in the department of Córdoba and on the road that connects the city of Montería with the municipality of Arboletes, in the department of Antioquia.
Colombian National Army will continue working day and night, in order to provide the necessary support to the communities that are being hit by the heavy rains in this area of the country.
