The events took place in the middle of a firefight where an individual was in the same way arrested.
In the framework of operations, soldiers of Colombian National Army and the Police, in the middle of a combat, arrest two individuals, alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, in the municipality of El Zulia, Department of Norte de Santander.
The men on a motorcycle had intercepted a collective passenger transport vehicle, threatening the passengers and planned to paint the vehicle with graffiti; when they noticed the work of the military, they started to escape.
In order to arrest the men, a coordinated work was conducted by the Army and the Police, executing the Padlock plan on the roads entering the urban area of the municipality.
On the El Mirto sector, a combat occurred where one of the individuals was injured, who was assisted, in the frame of the respect of human rights and international humanitarian law. The injured man was transferred to a health care center.
Those arrested had two pistols in their possession. The men and the material were put into custody of the authority, for the respective prosecution.
In the face of these criminal operations of the GAO ELN, the military units continue to work in the surrounding sectors, in order to protect the inhabitants.
