It is estimated that the narcotic would have a cost that would exceed 6,700 million pesos in the international illegal market.
Within the framework of military operations framed in the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan and aimed at countering drug trafficking in the southwest of the country, troops of the Third Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police, found 1126 kilograms of marijuana in the urban area of the municipality of Yumbo, department of Valle de Cauca.
The events took place when the military units were warned about a suspicious vehicle in the sector. Immediately, the alert was issued and the troops managed to find the car, which was found abandoned by its driver.
When the vehicle was checked, 273 packages containing 1126 kilograms of pressed and packaged marijuana were found by troops. The drug and the vehicle were put into custody of the authority to conduct the corresponding judicial processes.
Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of Valle del Cauca and will continue to carry out powerful operations against illicit activities that hit stability and coexistence in the region.
