Through joint and binational operations, Colombian National Army of Colombia powerfully hits the finances and logistical resources of illegal armed structures, generating losses exceeding two billion pesos.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Plan and thanks to the joint and inter-institutional effort, troops of the Hercules Task Force, with the support of the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police, are carrying, in 2025 and 2026, a series of sustained operations in rural areas of the South Pacific of Nariño and on the border with Ecuador. These acts led to the destruction of more than 95 laboratories dedicated to the production of coca paste base and cocaine hydrochloride, a construction used by organized armed groups that commit crimes in this strategic region of the country.
These operations have significantly hit the financial and logistical structure of the dissidents of the Bolivarian Army National Coordinator, the Jacobo Arenas Western Bloc and the GAO-r Comuneros del Sur, organizations that sustain their illicit activities through the production and trafficking of narcotics. The joint operation managed to confiscate and destroy 4,251 kg of cocaine hydrochloride, 857 kg of marijuana, 7,303 kg of coca paste base, 3,669 gallons of processed coca base, the eradication of 322,700 coca bushes, in addition to 6,389 kg of solid precursors and 8,294 gallons of liquid precursors used for the manufacture of drugs.
In the direct loss to these illegal armed structures, the troops recovered four minors, obtained the voluntary surrender of nine people and also the arrest of 26 members of these organizations. In the same way, a significant volume of war items was seized, such as 15,542 ammunition of different calibers, 955 MAP devices, 737 explosive devices, 17 long weapons, 22 short weapons; the finding of 28 illegal hiding places, was also possible substantially weakening the criminal capacity of these groups operating in the border area.
The economic impact of these results amounts to more than 2,000 million pesos, resources that these criminal structures stop receiving to finance weapons and logistics aimed at improving the security of the communities of the southwest of the country. Through these operations, Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the protection of the inhabitants, the recovery of the territory and sustained military operations in the region, in fulfillment of its constitutional mission.
