With the firm purpose of working to increase the security, governance and rights of the inhabitants of the rural area of the municipality of La Plata, in the west of the department of Huila, the Ninth Brigade, through the Infantry Battalion N° 26 Cacique Pigoanza, has reinforced the deployment of its troops in the municipality center Belén and in the villages Villalozada, Gallego and La Guinea, in the border area with the department of Cauca.
The soldiers of the homeland, as sentinels of security, are constantly working to counteract the criminal operations of the residual organized armed groups, which historically have tried to intimidate and hit the tranquility of the peasants.
This work not only represents a military commitment, but in the same way a social and institutional achievement: the activity of the Army ensures that the peasants are heard, that their voice has an echo in the local and regional leaders and also that the State can make effective works by increasing access to programs, projects and accompaniment that strengthen community development.
As part of this comprehensive operation, the troops are carrying out continuous patrols in coordination with the National Police, aerial surveillance through the use of drones, strengthening the citizen participation network and the use of state-of-the-art technological means, in order to anticipate any threat and provide greater levels of confidence and tranquility to the inhabitants.
The Ninth Brigade reaffirms that there is no territory closed to Colombian National Army; every corner of Huila has soldiers who, in an unwavering manner, fulfill the constitutional mission of protecting the life, good physical condition and rights of the inhabitants.
Through this work, Colombian National Army ratifies its commitment to work coordinately with civil authorities, institutions and the community, so that the department of Huila countryside continues to be an environment of progress, hope and security.
