Colombian National Army strengthens military nurseries in Boyacá, to contribute to the department's environment

Ejército Nacional fortalece viveros militares en Boyacá, para contribuir al medio ambiente del departamento

Within the framework of the Amazon Plan, led by Colombian National Army and oriented to environmental protection, the First Brigade received precursors from the Boyacá Governorate, aimed at strengthening five military nurseries in the municipalities of Duitama, Sogamoso, El Espino, Chiquinquirá and Tunja.

This endowment, aimed at strengthening resources in environmental matters, includes fertilizers, seeds, and water storage tanks, essential elements for the production of plants that will be used in reforestation activities in different areas of the department.

Thanks to these resources, military units increase their capacity to produce seedlings and lead planting events, contributing directly to the conservation of ecosystems and the sustainable development of the region.

The delivery was held at the Department's Botanical Garden, with the participation of the Secretary of Development and Sustainable Environment, Soraida Ruiz García, and the delegate of the First Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Hardy Ferney Rodríguez García, commander of the Cacique Tundama Combat Support and Sustainment Battalion, who highlighted the importance of this strengthening to consolidate the institutional commitment to environmental protection.

During the activity, the delivery of constructions was in the same way made for the nursery of the Cacique Tundama Combat Support and Support Battalion, which will optimize the production processes of plant and expand the scope of environmental initiatives led by the unit.
