With an operation of 150 soldiers, Colombian National Army, through the Military Police Battalion No. 2 of the Second Brigade, will provide security during the OECD Local Development Forum, in coordination with the other Military Forces and the National Police.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan and in response to the institutional commitment to the security and development of the country, the Military Police Battalion No. 2 City of Barranquilla of the Second Brigade will deploy about 150 highly trained soldiers to provide security and tranquility during the OECD Local Development Forum that will take place in Barranquilla – department of Atlántico, by July 8 and 11, 2025.
As part of the security measures coordinated with the other State forces, the members of the Military Forces of Colombian National Army will carry out mixed and dissuasive patrols together with units of the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police, consolidating an active and permanent presence on the Great River Embankment, one of the main environments of the event.
Additionally, military checkpoints will be established at strategic points on the Malecon sector, and search and control activities will be carried out in the neighborhoods surrounding the event site, in order to prevent any situation that may disturb law and order and also to work to provide greater security to both attendees and people in general.
This deployment is part of Colombian National Army's urban security resources, aimed at protecting the inhabitants, national and international visitors, as well as the participating delegates of the forum, which promotes sustainable growth, local investment and international cooperation.
