This important result is the continuation of the intervention that has been taking place in the Aburr谩 Valley, thanks to a work of several months by specialized military intelligence.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, which aims to weaken illicit activities and deny sources of financing to illegal groups, soldiers of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 4 General Pedro Nel Ospina, of the Fourth Brigade of Colombian National Army, reached the villages of Chapa Alta and La Aguada, in the municipality of Barbosa, department of Antioquia, where they found and dismantled two laboratories for production of cocaine hydrochloride and coca paste base, which would belong to the Edwin Rom谩n Vel谩zquez Valle Substructure, of the Clan de Golfo.
The soldiers found 95 kilos of pressed cocaine hydrochloride ready for distribution and commercialization, 3 kilos of coca base paste, 1380 doses of marijuana, 7 microwaves, an industrial oven, an air compressor, a distillation tower, a filter press, a vacuum packaging machine, a sealer, a precision scale, a scale, 2 hydraulic presses, 528 gallons of liquid and solid supplies; in addition, a handgun, 38-caliber ammunition, a rudimentary weapon was also found and communications material.
It is noteworthy that the 2 laboratories had a production capacity of close to 2 tons per month, which had two marketing lines: export type and sale in the country. Once the villages were secured, officers of the National Police entered to carry out the corresponding judicial procedures with the material, which were put into custody. Through this important result, the illicit income of this illegal group is significantly reduced, which would be valued at more than 800 million pesos.
With this money, the outlaw organization planned to buy weapons and explosives to attack the Military Forces and beat the inhabitants. Colombian National Army will continue to carry out coordinated work with the National Police to combat the illegal armed groups that profit from this operation and that attack the security of the inhabitants in this region of the country.
