Colombian National Army supports the transfer of humanitarian aid for families affected by the earthquake in Venezuela

Ejército Nacional apoya el traslado de ayudas humanitarias para las familias afectadas por el terremoto en Venezuela

With its logistical resources, the Fifth Brigade transports the donations collected in Bucaramanga to contribute to the assistance to face the emergency.

 

As part of its commitment to the protection of the inhabitants and support for humanitarian acts, troops of the Fifth Brigade of Colombian National Army, through the Support and Services Battalion for Combat No. 5 Mercedes Ábrego, carry out the transportation of humanitarian aid collected by the Mayor's Office of Bucaramanga and the newspaper Vanguardia, which will be transferred to the city of Cúcuta.

 

The donations, which amount to approximately 8 tons, are transported in a vehicle and will be distributed to the northern capital city of Santander to continue their journey to Venezuela and be distributed among the families affected by the recent earthquake.

 

Through this support, Colombian National Army facilitates the timely assistance to communities facing emergency situations, reaffirming its vocation of service and solidarity, even beyond borders.

 

This action reaffirms the institutional commitment to the fulfillment of the Strategic Objective No. 1 of the Ayacucho Plus Plan, aimed at protecting the inhabitants, and Strategic Objective No. 3, focused on contributing to the protection of governance, through coordinated work with civil authorities and other state institutions to provide support to vulnerable inhabitants.

 

Colombian National Army will continue to support humanitarian initiatives that bringing hope to those who need it most, ratifying its permanent commitment to life, solidarity and the well-being of communities.
