Units of the Colombian Navy in conjunction with the National Army, found 129 cubic meters of wood, in search and river control operations on the Atrato River, carried out in the departments of Chocó and Antioquia.

The first inspections were carried out by troops of the Navy River Battalion No.16, attached to the Joint Task Force Titan, on several boats in the vicinity of the municipality of Quibdó, department of Chocó, in which 88 cubic meters of wood were being transported.

On the other hand, in Vigía del Fuerte, Antioquia, another ship was inspected in search and control operations, which was transporting 41 cubic meters of wood including Cedar and Oak.

At the time of the inspections, the pilots of the boats did not present the corresponding documentation or environmental permits for transport in accordance with current regulations. The material was put into custody of the authorities. With the finding of this wood, the Colombian Navy prevents the illegal use of these timber.
