Colombian Navy assisted tourist in emergency in San Andrés

arc_foto_asistencia_a_turista_en_san_andres_3.jpeg

The Colombian Navy, through the Coast Guard Units of the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia, carried out the maritime evacuation, from Cayo Acuario to the coasts of San Andrés, of a 26-year-old Colombian tourist who presented an episode of anxiety and had been missing for about 24 hours.

This evacuation was carried out thanks to the emergency call made by a group of people, who were in Cayo Acuario, to a Coast Guard Rapid Reaction Unit - URR that carried out maritime control patrols in the area, alerting about a person in poor health.

Immediately, the Colombian Sailors provided assistance to the tourist and, later, transported her to the departmental dock where she was assisted by medical personnel of the Regulatory Center for Urgency and Emergency – CRUE.

In the same way, units of the National Police of the San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina Police Department that followed up on the situation said that the Colombian citizen had been reported missing by relatives, who expressed that she suffered from psychological disorders.
