With the institutional commitment to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants in the Colombian Caribbean and strengthen the State's activity in this region of the country, the Colombian Navy, through the Navy Infantry Battalion No.13, led the Development Support Activity Abriendo Mares, which benefited about a thousand people in the village of Rincón del Mar, municipality of San Onofre, department of Sucre.
To the rhythm of the musical presentation of the group La Piragua, the attendees enjoyed an activity full of joy and solidarity. During the event, health services in general medicine, Optometry and Psychology were provided, as well as legal advice, training workshops in leadership, entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability. In the same way, 1,500 units of food supplement, 1,800 units of rice, 150 school kits and 150 food baskets were distributed.
This activity was possible thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Navy, the Professional Officers of the Reserve of the Sucre Mission Support Command, the Ser Social Foundation of Sucre, the Isonomía Foundation, Mutual Ser, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing –ICBF- and the communal leaders, who joined efforts to bring well-being to these coastal people.
