About 3 000 men and women have been send to carry out various tasks within the framework of the humanitarian operation.

To date, the Colombian Navy has designated 10 units afloat that have transported 21,800 liters of water and more than 9,500 tons of cargo, elements necessary for the recovery of the Island.

The aircraft have evacuated nine people from Providencia to San Andrés who had different medical emergencies.

33 boats dragged by Hurricane Iota were rescued.

120 crew members have as their main mission the repair of roofs. To date, 128 houses have been refurbished.

The commitment of the Colombian Navy to the Raizal inhabitants and inhabitants of the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, is permanent after a year of the transit of Hurricane Iota on November 16, 2020, which hit 98 percent of the infrastructure of the Islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina. Troops provide humanitarian assistance and logistical support meet the needs of its inhabitants.

At that time, the Missile Frigate ARC Antioquia was carrying out operations of national sovereignty within the framework of the Archipelago Plan. It was the first unit of the Military Forces to provide support during the emergency, provide the necessary help to the community, and serve as a communication platform between Providencia and the continent through its satellite communications equipment, which led to reporting to the central Government and the entire country the real dimension of the emergency.

After the emergency left by this natural phenomenon, on November 17, 2020 sailed from Cartagena to the islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina the missile frigate ARC Independiente, with about 200 crew members, military personnel belonging to the Company's Risk Management, Salvage and Diving, Naval Hospital de Cartagena, Naval Aviation to facilitate the work of search and rescue of the inhabitants of the islands, which were hit by this hurricane category five, the first in its category to hit this region of the country.
