Young people serving in this unit learn about conservation issues, renovate soils and enhance the value of nature.

The Navy of Colombia in its Naval Base ARC M谩laga, in the Parque Nacional Natural Uramba, one of the areas with greater importance in the conservation of coastal ecosystems of the Colombian Pacific, is involved in a productive project environment in which young people who serve their military service are aware of the importance of the conservation of the animals of the region and the value of ecosystems.

The nursery is a project led by the Office of environment of the Naval Base and currently contains 500 plants native to the region.

The infantry men and other crew members of this unit have so far planted 800 plants of various types, which now decorate the facilities and improve the air quality at the base.

The main objective of this nursery is a reproduction of ornamental plants which later can be further beautifying the environment, contributing to the cleanliness of the air and the reduction of the carbon footprint, as well as making a contribution to combat the formation of deserts.

These plants were designed in order to prevent forest alteration, so only specimens belonging to the habitat were included, which after their adaptation process in the bags, will be transplanted in different spaces of the Naval Base.
