Numerous operations have been carried out by the Colombian Navy in coordination with public and private organizations, to stop deforestation and preserve natural resources in the Colombian Caribbean within the framework of Operation Artemisa led by the Colombian Military Forces.
This time, the Navy Brigade No.1 through the Navy Battalion No.14 in coordination with the Municipal Mayor's Office of San Bernardo del Viento, the Sucre Joven Foundation, the National Police, the Municipal Education Secretariat and the San Francisco de Asís School, planted 400 trees of timber and fruit in the school's facilities.
Teachers and students were the first to plant these trees, which will be cared for by the school community to ensure that they can grow in optimal conditions. In addition, they will carry out educational activities in which they will raise awareness in locals about the importance of contributing to environmental reforestation.
