373 kilograms of this alkaloid were found by troops at the site, as well as 3,246 gallons of acetone.
Within the framework of comprehensive control and security operations in the South Pacific, the Colombian Navy, jointly with the Colombian Aerospace Force and coordinated with the National Police, reported the finding and destruction of a cocaine laboratory used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride, in a rural area of the municipality of Francisco Pizarro, department of Nariño.
Thanks to intelligence efforts, troops of Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 40 and 41 arrived at the Punta del Haya village, where they found an illegal construction that apparently belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group - GAOR- Alfonso Cano Structure.
In the place were found by troops 373 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, as well as 3,246 gallons of acetone, various supplies and equipment used in the production of the narcotic such as microwave ovens, rudimentary presses, filtration systems, storage tanks and elements for the packaging and marking of the alkaloid.
During the intervention and after the security review by specialized personnel, the controlled destruction of this rudimentary structure of approximately 10 meters long by 10 meters wide, built in wood with plastic and zinc roofs, used as a cocaine laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride, was carried out.
This result represents a significant loss to the finances of criminal organizations, estimated at more than 2,400 million Colombian pesos, directly weakening the drug trafficking chain in this region of the country.
