In the course of river search and control operations, troops of the Colombian Navy, together with the National Army, found and dismantled a rudimentary laboratory used for the production of coca-based paste, in the department of Chocó.
The finding of this illegal construction was made in the sector of the Curvaradó River in the municipality of Carmen del Darién, near the Atrato River, in which 90 kilograms of coca base and 60 gallons of gasoline were found by troops.
Upon completion of the inspection by members of the Military Forces, the laboratory was destroyed in controlled conditions in coordination with the Attorney General's Office.
In this way, the Naval Institution for 2023 continues to hit the finances of the Carlos Vásquez substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in this region of the country. No arrests were made during the proceedings.
