After sailing 227 nautical miles, the Logistics Support Ship ARC Bahía Colombia of the Colombian Navy, of the Pacific Naval Force, arrived in the municipality of Juradó, northern area of the department of Chocó, loaded with thousands of humanitarian aid kits to be distributed to the inhabitants of this area of the country.

3,714 baskets of food of the Ministry of the Interior and the “Ayudar Nos Hace Bien” program (Helping is good for us), led by the First Lady of the Nation, were shipped in the Buenaventura District by dozens of men of the Navy infantry Brigade No.2, to start a journey through three municipalities in this department.

The first arrival point was the municipality of Juradó, where its inhabitants received 689 food baskets with basic elements of the family basket. Then, the ship left for Nuquí to disembark 741 humanitarian aid kits, ending the journey in the municipality of Bahía Solano, where 2,284 food baskets were distributed.

As part of the efforts in the prevention and containment of the covid-19, the Colombian Navy will continue to work with the # CorazónAzulado in a coordinated manner with the different state institutions, to support with their logistical and human resources the distribution of humanitarian aid in all corners of the Colombian Pacific, especially in those places with difficult access. In the same way, the navy invites citizens to rigorously attend to the measures issued by the National Government in order to curb the spread of this pandemic.
