As part of the national contingency generated by covid-19, dozens of infantry men of the Colombian Navy continue to support the distribution of humanitarian aid along the Colombian Pacific coast.
This time the turn was for the municipality of Timbiqu铆, Cauca. A unit afloat of the Pacific Naval Force loaded up to 133 tons of hope reached this coastal area.
7,890 food baskets were distributed in this humanitarian mission that benefited 31,560 families. Members of the River Navy Infantry Battalion No.42 were in charge of arriving home from home accompanied by the Municipal Mayor's Office to distribute these reliefs donated by the National Government under the program Colombia is with you, one million families.
The material was received in the Buenaventura District, where the crew of the Logistics Support Ship ARC Bah铆a Colombia, with the support of the community, stored and transported this aid with all the biosecurity measures.
So they arrive at the docking port of Timbiqu铆, distributing these food baskets to the community with basic elements of the family basket.
During this quarantine, the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2 has supported the distribution of 990 tons of humanitarian aid represented in food baskets, cleaning kits and biosafety elements in the departments of Cauca, Choc贸 and Valle del Cauca.
