The 28-year-old pregnant woman received medical assistance at the María Angelines hospital in Puerto Leguízamo; it was necessary to carry out the emergency evacuation to the city of Florencia (Caquetá), because she was in complicated labor, which put in risk the life of the mother and the baby. Surgery was required immediately.
Therefore, in its humanitarian operation, the Colombian Navy evacuated the woman in a helicopter, which arrived at the Gustavo Artunduaga airport in Florencia, where she was expected by an ambulance, to be treated as a priority.
