With this new blow to drug trafficking illegal organizations lost more than six million dollars.
The sea control operations of the Colombian Navy through the Pacific Naval force led to the finding of 174 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which would be destined for Central America, in two operations, in Valle del Cauca.
The first finding took place 13 miles from Punta Bonita, Valle del Cauca, according to intelligence information provided by the ship ARC Jos茅 Mar铆a Palas. Units of the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura arrived at the site, where they detected a black cylinder of PVC material 3.7 meters long, finding inside 42 black packages, which according to the approved preliminary identification test (PIPH) left positive result for 42 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
In the same way, guided by Naval Intelligence, in coordination with the National Police and the Sijin (judicial police), in Los Limones Sector, in Buenaventura, A rapid Reaction Unit of the Buenaventura Coast Guard, which was conducting sea control operations over this sector detected another boat manned by three Colombians. At the time of the review, the crew found four sacks with 134 rectangular packages.
The bags, the boat and the individuals, were taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, where members of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) conducted the approved preliminary identification test (PIPH), which was positive for 132 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride; the individuals must face charges for trafficking, manufacture or carrying narcotic drugs.
"With this finding the Pacific Naval force reaches the 143 tons of cocaine hydrochloride found in the year. We will continue in a sustained manner, combating the transnational problem of drug trafficking, damaging its entire production and logistics chain, thus contributing to the well-being of communities, the social development of the region and the consolidation of the national territory", said Corvette captain Rodrigo Quintero, Commander in charge of the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura.
