The Colombian Navy in development of operations in the Colombian Pacific, made the finding of approximately 900 kilograms of shark, an animal protected in Colombian territory, whose rudimentary or industrial fishing is prohibited to work for its conservation and sustainability.

During maritime patrol work carried out by the Bahía Solano Coast Guard Station, a fishing boat was found 20 nautical miles of the municipality of Bahía Solano, which had problems in its propulsion system and according to what was stated by its crew, they were drifting two days ago.

The personnel of the Colombian Navy proceeded to tow the fishing boat to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Bahía Solano, where they checked the state of health of the crew members finding them in good condition. Subsequently, in coordination with officials of the National Authority for Aquaculture and Fisheries - AUNAP and the Regional Autonomous Corporation for the Sustainable Development of the Department of Chocó – CodeChocó, an inspection was carried out in which troops found a bag with 15 fins and seven sharks, whose weight was 200 kilos.

In the same way, in a port security operation carried out at the loading dock of the municipality of Bahía Solano, a routine inspection was carried out on a coastal ship in which 30 sharks without heads or fins, weighing approximately 700 kilograms, were found by troops.
