In naval operations against drug trafficking, the Colombian Navy announced the detection and finding of 54 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that was attached to the engines of a ship anchored in Santa Marta - Magdalena.
The training and experience of the team of Divers of the Santa Marta Primary Coast Guard Station that carried out the underwater inspection of the boat, led to detecting two sacks in the boat, each with 27 rectangular packages inside. The material was extracted and transported to land for detailed review.
Once at the dock, in coordination with units of the Judicial Police of the Santa Marta Anti鈥揘arcotics Directorate, the Approved Preliminary Identification Tests were carried out on the substance in the packages, leaving positive result for cocaine hydrochloride. The drug was put into custody of the authorities.
This finding represents a direct hit on the finances of multi-crime organizations exceeding 1.8 million dollars, and the commercialization of 135 thousand doses of cocaine on the international illegal market.
