With the finding of this illegal product, the distribution of more than one million doses on the international illegal market was prevented.
Units of the Colombian Navy in development of an operation against drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean, found 422 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride transported in a fiberglass boat in the waters of the Central Caribbean, border area with Panama.
The result was possible thanks to the synergy conducted by a Surface Unit (Ship) of the Colombian Navy, which detected a suspicious ship moving through the sea, and a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Urab谩 Coast Guard Station, which was deployed to consolidate the operation.
After several minutes of maritime pursuit, sailors of the Colombian Navy made the interception of the ship, crewed by a Colombian and a Panamanian, eight nautical miles from Cabo Tibur贸n - department of Choc贸, border with Panama.
When carrying out the inspection of the boat, it was found that the benches had a double bottom, where different rectangular packages apparently with narcotic substances were found by troops.
The ship was transported, together with the individuals and the elements, to the main dock of the Urab谩 Coast Guard Station, where the detailed review of it was carried out, accounting for 422 rectangular packages, which when taken to the Approved Preliminary Identification Tests by the Judicial Police, left positive result for 422 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
With the sale of this illegal merchandise that would be destined for Central America, the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo lost more than 14 million dollars, damaging its logistics and financial chain. In addition, the marketing and distribution of more than one million doses of cocaine on the illegal international market was prevented.
The two arrested individuals, the immobilized boat and the material were put into custody of the authorities.
