During river search and control operations on the Cauca River, near the municipality of Ach铆 (Bol铆var), units of the Colombian Navy found more than 15 thousand gallons of gasoline, which were being transported without the certificates for the management of controlled chemical substances.
Troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17 attached to the Joint Task Force Marte, at the time of the inspections to two metal boats, identified that these were transporting in an irregular manner 15.455 gallons of gas, distributed in 321 barrels with a capacity of 55 gallons each, which were being transported with no documentation and permits required to transport this amount of fuel.
It should be noted that this fuel would apparently be used as precursor for machinery that conducts illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other materials.
The material and the boats were put into custody of the local authorities of the municipality of Ach铆 (Bol铆var).
