Colombian Navy intensifies search for castaways in waters of the Gulf of Morrosquillo

Coast Guard and Surface Units of the Colombian Navy are intensifying the search and rescue of some disappeared persons, who are said to have been shipwrecked in maritime waters in the subregion of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, belonging to the departments of Sucre and C贸rdoba.

On the afternoon last Tuesday, it was known that four people of Bangladeshi origin had been rescued near Puerto Escondido (C贸rdoba) by fishermen of the region. Immediately, Coast Guard units were deployed in the area in order to establish the finding of the boat and the missing personnel, which apparently sailed last Sunday from Necocl铆 (Antioquia) bound for Panama.

Last night, fishermen of the sector of Isla Fuerte (C贸rdoba) reported the rescue of another person of Nepalese origin, so a unit of the Coast Guard Station of Cove帽as moved to the place of the events to provide primary care and then move him to safe harbor, where he received the corresponding medical assessment.

At the moment, Rapid Reaction units of the Coast Guard, the Ship ARC 11 de Noviembre and fishermen of the area intensify the search and rescue of the people who are still missing.
