The two individuals, who failed to comply with the provisions of presidential decree 412 of 2020, were expelled of the country by Migracion Colombia.
In maritime operations, Colombian Navy Units surprised a ship with three individuals, two of them of Ecuadorian nationality, carrying out illegal fishing tasks in the waters of the South Pacific in the department of Narino, failing to comply with the closure of borders ordered in the article 1 of Presidential Decree 412 of 2020, as part of the measures adopted to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Colombia.
As part of the strict controls carried out in the Colombian-Ecuadorian border area, Units of the Tumaco Coast Guard Station and the ARC José María Palas Ship, intercepted the flepper-type boat, where a Colombian and two men aged 40 and 43 age, from Esmeraldas, Ecuador, conducted fishing activities in an irregular way, in Majagual, in Tumaco, in the department of Nariño.
Complying with all the measures of the sanitary protocol, the Colombian Navy Units took the boat along with the individuals to the Pier of the Tumaco Coast Guard Station, where the two foreigners were put into custody of Migracion Colombia. The men were expelled of the country and turned over to the Ecuadorian authorities at the Río Cuyabero Mobile Coast Guard Station in Ecuador.
In the same way, within the procedure, the discovery of 114 kilograms of fishing was made, which were subsequently put into custody of the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Authority - AUNAP. Similarly, the motor ship was immobilized and put into custody of the authorities of the Port of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño.
