The Colombian Navy deployed its logistical resources and human talent to the people hardest hit by the wave caused by rains in the departments of Bolivar and Sucre, and to benefit more than 5,300 people with humanitarian aid.

Troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.14 transported from Sincelejo - Sucre, one and a half tons of donations and humanitarian aid which, for three days, were distributed together with the staff of the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing – ICBF to the inhabitants of the municipalities of Guaranda, Majagual, San Benito de Abad, San Marcos and Sucre, in the heart of the La Mojana sucreña subregion.

In the same way in the department of Bolívar, Units of the River Navy Infantry Battalion No.17 supported the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management and the departmental Government by transporting aid to the municipality of Barranco de Loba.

These supports initially arrived in the municipality of Hatillo de Loba, where they were embarked on a ferry to cross the Magdalena River and reach the municipality of Barranco de Loba, where the navy personnel carried out the unloading of the emergency humanitarian assistance boxes, including kitchen kits, toilet kits, medicines, food baskets with basic food of the family basket, vitamin supplements and clothes which were distributed to the community.

The Colombian Navy ratifies its commitment to the comprehensive development and well-being of the communities that inhabit the Colombian Caribbean; that is why its men and women will continue working uninterruptedly, to put at the service of citizens all its logistical resources in order to mitigate any emergency.
