The Colombian Navy, in an operation coordinated with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, announced the release of a young woman in the municipality of Sinc茅 - Sucre, who had been kidnapped since August 08, 2022.

After losing contact with the woman who had left her residence and, subsequently, receiving extortion calls from alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO,  Clan del Golfo, demanding two million pesos for her release, the relatives filed a denunciation with the Sinc茅 Prosecutor's Office for the crime of extortion kidnapping.

Upon learning of the fact, immediately, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Sucre of the Colombian Navy, in coordination with members of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), deployed to the Charco Colorado neighborhood of the municipality of Sinc茅, to conduct the anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion operation. The pressure of the troops and the high level of training led to the arrest and release of the young woman, who was being held inside a house.

After the rescue, the Colombian Navy troops verified the health status of the young woman who was in good condition and later, they transferred her to her home, where relatives thanked the return of the woman.

No arrests were reported during the operation
