Since 1974, the Navy of Colombia through the Naval Force of the South participates in the Operation BRACOLPER Naval 2022, which has as main objective to conduct naval exercises with the exchange of knowledge and expertise in operations conducted by the Navies of Brazil, Colombia and Peru, with the aim of improving the procedures and to raise the level of training of the crews, thus enabling the effective development of combined operations that strengthen the operation against transnational crimes in the triple frontier.

Operation BRACOLPER Naval 2022, will be carried out during three phases in order to simulate more than 15 naval exercises including, ship approach, lines crossings, day and night visual communications, which will seek to standardize the procedures of the participating Navies, contributing to military interoperability that works to have more trained troops and prepared to operate, protecting resources in the Amazon region.

This year, the Colombian Navy is represented by Vice Admiral Harry Ernesto Reyna Niño, Commander of the Southern Naval Force and 31 crew members, attached to the Southern River Flotilla and the Southern Naval Special Forces Group, participating in this important Naval Operation aboard the Heavy River Patrol Ship ARC TECIM Eddic Cristian Reyes Holguín. The Peruvian Navy participates with the rifle boat B.A.P Clavero and the Brazilian Navy with the River Patrol Boats Raposo Tavares, Rondônia and the Oswaldo Cruz Hospital Assistance Ship.

From 19 July until September 15, 2022, the Units of River in the three countries will be shifted on the Amazon river, a river that joins the triple border shared by Brazil, Colombia and Peru, in different phases carried out in the following routes, Phase I, Leticia (Colombia) - Iquitos (Peru), Phase II Iquitos (Peru) - Leticia (Colombia) and Phase III Leticia (Colombia) - Manaus (Brazil), where the crews will take part in the commemorative events of the Independence day of each country and the celebration of the anniversary No. 200 of the Brazilian Navy.
