An alleged member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo wounded during clashes with Military Forces, was abandoned by his comrades and found by Colombian Navy troops in the municipality of Guadualito, on the San Juan River - Department of Chocó, who provided him with medical assistance.

The individual, wounded in one of his limbs, received first aid and humanitarian aid from units of the Pacific Naval Force that carried out river control and later he was transported to the Docordó Navy Infantry post, in the municipality of Litoral San Juan, department of Chocó. From there the timely extraction was carried out in a Colombian Navy aircraft to the District of Buenaventura, where he was taken to a hospital.

At the moment, the man is under the protection of personnel of the Navy Battalion No.21 of the Colombian Navy and subsequently, will be put into custody of the authorities.

The Colombian Navy reaffirms its commitment to full compliance with the rules of International Humanitarian Law by protecting and saving the life of the enemy, when he has been wounded and who, because of his condition, ceases to be a direct part of hostilities. The protection of the inhabitants and humanitarian assistance are very important to the institution.
