Within the framework of the commitment to vulnerable communities and under the motto year 2025, Sailing to the heart of Colombians, the Colombian Navy, through the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 52, in coordination with the Disaster Risk Management Unit –UNGRD- of the municipality of Arauca, carried out a humanitarian assistance activity aimed at the Sikuani indigenous people in the village of La Estrellita.
This activity seeks to mitigate the critical situation faced by these families due to the overflowing of the Arauca River, caused by the wave of rains that hit extensive sectors of the department.
Thanks to the solidarity support of the Fuerza Colombia Foundation, 120 basic food baskets were distributed to alleviate the food and supply needs of the vulnerable families. This operation directly impacted on approximately 120 families, which represents about 620 people benefited.
