Colombian Navy provides humanitarian assistance to more than 3,000 people in Lorica, Córdoba department

Armada de Colombia brinda asistencia humanitaria a más de 3.000 personas en Lorica, Córdoba

In the framework of activities of unarmed effort, more than seven tons of humanitarian aid were distributed and medical assistance was provided to more than 200 members of communities hit by the  rains.

The Colombian Navy through the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 1, in coordination with the Sueños de Luna Foundation, Naval Health and Professional Officers of the Naval Reserve, carried out two humanitarian assistance activities in the municipality of Lorica (Córdoba) to benefit vulnerable villages hit by the rainy season.

The activities were carried out in the villages of Cotocá Abajo and San Nicolás de Bari, where approximately seven tons of humanitarian aid were distributed, represented in more than 660 food baskets for vulnerable families.

Simultaneously, health care activities are carried out, and 230 general medicine consultations were provided with a supply of medicines, contributing to the well-being of the inhabitants and mitigating the effects derived of the  rains.

About three thousand people were benefited, including older adults, men, women, boys and girls, who received comprehensive support by the participating institutions.

The Colombian Navy will continue to strengthen these acts of support aimed at the communities, working in a coordinated manner with different institutions to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the inhabitants.
