In different neighborhoods on the island of San Andrés, 3,666 food kits have been distributed by the Specific Command of San Andrés y Providencia and its components of the Colombian Navy, National Army and Colombian Air Force, for the benefit of the most vulnerable inhabitants of the Archipelago.
The recently distributed humanitarian aid is part of the Senior Adult program of the Department of Social Development of the Departmental Government, and was distributed door-to-door in the El Cove and El Barrack sectors, by men of the Naval Military Police Battalion No.11 and National Army Soldiers, who during this activity supply the homes of 14 older adults.
With these inter-institutional humanitarian operations, people remain in their residences, thus reducing the risks of COVID-19 contagion.
