In maritime control operations, units of the Colombian Navy in Cartagena reported the rescue of 15 people who were in emergency in the Punta Iguanas sector, Rosario Islands in Cartagena de Indias.
The emergency was detected by Coast Guard men conducting operations in the area, they saw the ship named Cielo Mar drifting. They immediately went to the scene to help the 15 people who were on board the boat, which had a loss of propulsion.
Those rescued along with the boat were taken to a safe area in Playa Blanca preserving human life at sea.
The Naval Institution reminds maritime people of the importance of complying with the security measures established for a safe enjoyment of the sea and its beaches in Cartagena.
