cogfm_arc_rescata_23_personas.jpg

The Colombian Navy, in coordination with the people of Ca帽o del Oro, rescued 23 passengers, who were traveling aboard a tourist boat that suffered a maritime accident during its navigation to Cartagena, near Ca帽o de Oro, beach area of Cartagena.

Coast Guard crew members received the alert call, of the Cartagena Maritime Control, Traffic and Surveillance Station, about the emergency of the boat named Ecohotel Las Palmeras from Isla Grande.

Immediately, two Rapid Reaction Units were deployed to the scene of the emergency, helping and reviewing the passengers, who were previously assisted by fishermen and the maritime productive groups of the area.

The Naval Institution verified the health status of these people by transferring two adults and two minors of Mexican nationality in a Rapid Reaction Unit to the Castillogrande pier (Cartagena). In the same way, with the support of the people, the damaged boat was towed to the shores of Ca帽o de Oro Island.

In the same way, the navy invites people to comply with maritime safety regulations, especially the use of a life jacket and to report any emergency on the telephone line 146 or on the Navy VHF channel 16.
