The rescued foreigners included citizens from Bangladesh, Venezuela, India and Ecuador.

In fulfillment of the constitutional mission, Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy reported safeguarding the lives of 34 migrants of different nationalities, who were traveling aboard a fiberglass boat through the waters of the Gulf of Urab谩.

The event occurred when a Rapid Reaction Unit -URR- of the Urab谩 Coast Guard Station, in coordination with a Coastal Patrol ship of the Colombian Navy, detected a ship adrift near Cabo Tiburon (Department of Choc贸), with a group of foreigners inside who intended to cross the border into Panama.

At the time of the review and inspection of the ship, it was possible to safeguard the lives of 29 citizens from Bangladesh, three from Venezuela, one from Ecuador and one from India, which did not have the documentation proving entrance and transit in the country. According to the passengers, the pilot of the ship escaped when noticing the work of the authorities.

Subsequently, the foreigners' good state of health was verified and they were safely transported to the municipality of Capurgan谩 (Department of Choc贸), where they were put into custody of Migraci贸n Colombia. The boat was immobilized and put into custody of the s authorities.
