In the midst of the pandemic, thanks to solidarity and work conducted by the Security forces and State institutions, humanitarian aid was distributed in Cartagena, Bol铆var.
Men and women of the Colombian Navy accompanied by members of public and private institutions reached the most vulnerable sectors of the Olaya Herrera, La Mar铆a neighborhoods and the Pasacaballos municipality in Cartagena, Bol铆var, to distribute door-to-door in these localities more than 7,130 humanitarian aid kits represented in basic foods of the family basket.
With the active collaboration in the transport and distribution of these thousands of food kits, the crews of the Caribbean Naval Force contribute their grain of sand to strengthen the Unified operation of the State in all corners of the heroic city during the Mandatory Preventive Isolation decreed by the National Government to contain and prevent the contagion by covid-19.
This operation which seeks to supply the neediest inhabitants, is carried out daily and in a sustained manner over time in various parts of Cartagena, and is achieved thanks to the inter-institutional cooperation ties that the Naval Institution has with the Bolivar Governorate, the Cartagena Mayor's Office, the National Police, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management - UNGRD, the Colombian Civil Defense, ANDI, Chevron and the AGM Huellas de Piedra Foundation and Bah铆a Foundation.
