During the operation, three individuals were apprehended and a minor was recovered, as well as the items illegally removed of the boat.

Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy reported the interception of a boat manned by four individuals including a minor, who allegedly had stolen navigation items and nautical material that was on board the sailboat named Mist, which ran aground in the Punta Gigante sector, insular area of Cartagena, yesterday afternoon, March 27, 2023.

As part of the operation to support and monitor the stranded ship, the Maritime Traffic Control Station received an emergency call of the captain of the sailboat, who said that a group of people traveling on the ship named La Niña Mariangel were trying to board the sailboat without his consent. Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR was sent to the area reporting the finding of the aforementioned boat three nautical miles of the aground ship, reaching the Bocachica sector.

Thanks to the work of the crew members of the Naval Institution and their efficient operation, the ship was intercepted, immobilized and taken along with its crew, consisting of three adults and a minor, to the Coast Guard Station of Cartagena where they were handed over to the authorities.
