Colombian Navy transported 4 Colombians rescued in the Caribbean Sea to San Andrés

In surface units of the Colombian Navy, four Colombian fishermen were transported to San Andrés Isla, who were rescued in international waters of the Caribbean Sea by Nicaraguan ships.

These people were rescued after having disappeared while fishing in waters near the Islas menores to the south of San Andres island.

Their maritime transport to the coast of Colombia took place after coordination conducted by the navies of both countries that established a meeting point –Rendevouz - in the Caribbean Sea to give these four people to the Colombian authorities; they shipwrecked on the high seas for more than 48 hours, moments in which their two ships suffered propulsion problems.

The Colombian Navy had different naval means to conclude this successful search and rescue operation, deploying rapid reaction units-URR-of the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés and the Missile Corvette ARC Almirante Tono; a unit destined to return the fishermen and tow their boats to the coasts of the capital city of the Department archipelago.
