Under heavy rains that made navigation difficult, the Amphibious landing ship ARC Golfo de Tribugá of the Colombian Navy, reached Acandí, Department of Chocó, with the sole purpose of continuing to support the community of this municipality in the subregion of the Gulf of Urabá.

On this occasion the ship transported from Turbo, Antioquia, two specialized vehicles for the collection of solid waste, which will begin to operate in the municipality of Acandí and in the municipality of Capurganá, in order to contribute to the care of the environment.

Last year, the ship ARC Golfo de Morrosquillo transported three electricity generators and two radiators donated by the Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions for Non – Interconnected Areas-IPSE, equipment with which it was possible to establish 24 hours a day of energy in the municipality.

In this way, the Colombian Navy contributes to the well-being of the inhabitants of Acandí. “On behalf of the 14,500 inhabitants of Acandí, I want to thank the Colombian Navy for the unconditional support its troops have always given us... and that has led us to improve our quality of life,” said the mayor of Acandí, Alexander Murillo Robledo.
