Colombian sailors saved the life of a five-month-old baby

Marinos de Colombia salvaguardaron la vida de una bebé de cinco meses

So far this year, the Naval Institution has rescued and evacuated 117 people who have suffered emergencies in the Colombian Pacific.

Units of the Colombian Navy, within the framework of comprehensive maritime control and security operations, carried out the evacuation of a five-month-old girl of the village of La Bocana, approximately 20 minutes by boat of the main Colombian Pacific port, in the department of Valle del Cauca.

0The evacuation began when staff at the police station in the village of La Bocana requested support to transfer a baby because she had seizures and needed to be taken to a more complex center to receive specialized medical assistance.

Immediately, taking into account the situation of the minor, the Colombian Navy sent a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station, which transported the patient and two relatives to the dock, where an ambulance was waiting for them and took them to the San Jorge University Hospital, in the main port of Valle del Cauca.

The Colombian Navy will continue to make available its human and logistical resources to safeguard the lives of the inhabitants in this region of the country, and invites people to report any risk and emergency situation to the 147 line available 24 hours a day.
