The work of the Mechanized Cavalry Group N.° 10 Tequendama in the Chingaza National Natural Park is fundamental to preserve this unique ecosystem. Through its protection, surveillance and environmental education operation, it contributes significantly to maintaining the biodiversity and natural resources of this protected area.
On World Earth Day it is essential to recognize its commitment to the conservation and care of the environment, for the benefit not only of the flora and fauna of Chingaza, but in the same way for the local communities and the planet as a whole.
This educational process is led by officials of the Chingaza National Natural Park, who through workshops teach the military about the environmental goods and services that the Parks provide to the Colombian territory and the importance of these for the conservation of the country's biodiversity.
The soldiers receive training in order to strengthen the joint management of prevention and control of the territory in the national natural parks, as well as to prepare in post-conflict environments and strengthen environmental governance.
The recommendations of Second Sergeant Fabio Acosta Ramirez, of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No.10, are very important to preserve the National Natural Park. It is crucial to prevent making bonfires, not leaving solid waste and not contributing to deforestation. These events will help to conserve the biodiversity of the place for future generations.
The mission focuses on highlighting the importance of the Chingaza National Natural Park for the country and recognizing the commitment of Colombian National Army in order to work for the preservation of protected areas.
