The Command of the Quiron Task Force, military unit of the Eighth Division of the National Army, informs:
1. In a cowardly terrorist operation that violates the international humanitarian law and human rights, the San Jorge military base, in the municipality of Saravena, department of Arauca, was attacked with explosive devices.
2. As a result of this criminal attack, one of our military officers was injured with shrapnel, who was immediately helped by military rescuers and evacuated to a medical center in the municipality of Saravena, where he is stable.
3. According to preliminary information, this action appears to have been perpetrated by members of the organized armed group GAO ELN.
4. At this time, military operations are being held in order to identify those responsible for this terrorist act, as well as to check the military unit's facilities and their surroundings to rule out any other device.
5. The National Army rejects this terrorist operation that seeks to strike the tranquility of the inhabitants of the sector, and in the coming hours the denunciation will be filed with the Attorney General's Office.
