In a maritime interception operation 70 nautical miles north of Riohacha the Colombian Aerospace Force and units of the Colombian Navy confiscated a Go Fast type ship carrying 14 bags with illicit substances.
The interception was made possible thanks to naval intelligence information that identified the ship that had set sailed in La Guajira department and had as its destination Central America. Once the Navy knew about the potential illicit activity, a joint operation was deployed in which Rapid Reaction units of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Station were guided by an Air Combat Command aircraft No.3.
The rapid reaction resulted in the interception of the ship that was manned by two individuals of Venezuelan nationality. Due to the difficult weather conditions the two people and the possible illicit substance were taken to a naval unit that transported them to Riohacha for the realization of the urgent acts.
At arriving at Riohacha, court authorities identified that the 14 sacks contained 413 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
