After an adequate planning during this year, the Colombian Air Force started the campaign Adopt a Park for your Community in the municipality of Madrid.
The operation is carried out by members of the Maintenance Air Command, the Andrés M. Díaz NCO School and the Professional Officers of the CAMAN Reserve, in alliance with the Mayor's Office of this municipality of La Sábana de Occidente, EMPU Madrid and the Aqueduct, Sewerage and Toilet Company of Madrid.
This campaign is aimed at promoting a sense of belonging and the care of public spaces, in that sense the Pedro Fernández Madrid main park was adopted.
During this first phase, general cleaning was carried out, 400 red plants, 80 lemon duranta, 10 pines, 80 wax laurels and 10 siete cueros were planted, and the flagpoles were restored, QR codes were installed with information about the trees that for more than 70 years have given shade to the locals and visitors, in the same way QR with information about the history of the 100 years of the CAMAN.
Similarly, the staff of Comprehensive operation and Public Communications talked to the citizens to the care of the environments as a way to protect the environment.
The Colombian Air Force will continue with the nationwide campaign of Adopt a Park for your Community, with the aim of linking the inhabitants of the municipalities to strengthen citizen culture, sustainable habits, clean and pleasant spaces for the enjoyment of all Colombians.
